According to the official records, the Association of Pediatric Surgeons of Delhi was founded on December 20, 1999, at Maulana Azad Medical College in Delhi, as a branch of the Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons.

It started out slowly, and a distinct constitution was intended. Later on, however, it was determined to adhere to the Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons' (IAPS) constitution, which had same goals.

By 2025, the association's strength had grown to 140, having steadily expanded to 50 in 2002.

In 2005, it was agreed to hold meetings at least every two months and to hold one yearly CME, and this is still being done.

With a chairperson for two years and a secretary for two years, the association's structure was designed similarly to that of IAPS. The executive council (EC) had five members and a comparable two-year term.

All records were first stored on paper, but gradually, starting in 2006, they were converted to electronic format, and a separate email was formed, which resulted in the consolidation of all correspondence. 

The association is still in the process of registering with the Registrar of Societies.
